More Than Language Lessons

Helping people become successful language learners through confidence, habits, strategy and effective teaching.

I believe successful language learning involves more than grammar and vocabulary. Understanding how languages are acquired, building effective habits, and developing the confidence to communicate  are all essential parts of becoming fluent.

Many of my adult students come to me for a variety of reasons, including relocation to France, communicating with French-speaking family members, preparing for life abroad, owning property in France, travelling regularly and developing confidence in everyday conversations.

Lessons are tailored to your personal goals and circumstances. Whether you are starting from scratch, returning to French after many years, or preparing for a move abroad, I provide a structured and supportive approach that helps you make steady progress.

Alongside language tuition, I help adults understand how language acquisition works, what to focus on between lessons,  and how to build sustainable habits that support fluency. 

 

Children & Teenagers:

 

The lessons usually take place on a one-to-one basis online but for some children, especially the youngest, we recommend and provide in-person lessons. I believe kinesthetic and multi-sensory methods are essential for engaging younger learners. 

​

However, I also offer engaging online lessons for the young age groups, using a variety of exciting tools, physical props, and theatrical techniques. These lessons are dynamic and interactive, making them an appealing choice for some parents. 

​

During our initial consultation, I will explore with you various aspects, including current knowledge of the language, past experiences, learning styles and abilities, strengths, areas of development and objectives. Together, we will create a plan to determine how you or your child can achieve set goals.​​

​

The approach I use goes beyond the act of teaching. I believe it is important to look at the individual as a whole and take all aspects of the student's life into consideration. Children's and teenagers' wellbeing is extremely important. Taking this into account helps us determine the most effective way to work together while maintaining a balanced schedule and lifestyle.
